5 Sutras of the Aquarian Age [Video]

  1. Understand through compassion; otherwise you might misunderstand the times.
  2. Recognize that the other person is you.
  3. When the time is on you, start and the pressure will be off.
  4. There is a way through every block.
  5. Vibrate the cosmos; the cosmos shall clear the path.

Quote of the Day - Peace

"When we speak of a calm state of mind or peace of mind, we shouldn't confuse that with an insensitive state of apathy. Having a calm or peaceful state of mind doesn't mean being spaced out or completely empty. Peace of mind or a calm state of mind is rooted in affection and compassion and is sensitive and responsive to others."

Progress and Comparison

Progress comes when progress stops,
Like the stopping of a ticking clock,
Like time becoming a timeless lot,
Like life becomes what is and is not.

Comparison, a useless activity,
Uniqueness, the only reality,
Stop comparing against another,
Eliminate the duality altogether.

Success, a self-created ideology,
Its just a simple psychology,
No one is a prodigy,
Everyone is just biology.

Performance, just an idea,
Just another comparison,
Creating an inner fear,
Of not making it, my dear.

Steer towards nothing,
To have access to everything,
Taking no stance,
Makes the Universe sing.

Bring yourself to zero,
You are nothing, nothing,
Then you will be a hero,
You'll be something, something.

One thing is very clear,
Peer into oneself,
Find a silent place,
To clear the piling shelf.

Never will life be the same,
Life loses its apparent game,
To all the Gods, a shame,
Nobody left to blame.

Fame and forture is yours,
Universe works it all out,
Transcend self-created laws,
Accepting all the flaws.

Perfection is possible,
But not the perfection you know,
Perfection is not trying,
Perfection is the inner glow.

Show your true light,
Share your inner wisdom,
Challenge your apparent sight,
Don't flight and don't fight.

Height of life is humility,
Might of life is tranquility,
Key of life is nothingness,
Face of life is oneness.

Vaheguru. Vaheguru.
Vaheguru. Vaheguru.
Vaheguru. Vaheguru.
Vaheguru. Vaheguru.

By Guru's Utter Grace - JHBSK - Completed 06/11/2010

I had a desire to write about my current state of nothingness, even writing about it cannot really describe it and does not make it true that I am in this state, since I have lost the ability of comparison. But reading all the 12 stanzas, which mainly wrote themselves, I could only say Vaheguru! And this completed the 13th stanza of the poem, taking the reader into ecstasy. Sat Naam.

International Peace Day: 21st of September 2010

Today is Peace Day, one day of international peace. One day of no war. One day of no hatred. One day of no enmity. One day of no fear. May we look deep within ourselves on this day and create within ourselves a deep peace of mind, body and soul, so that our world and our Universe becomes full of peace, not just for one day, but everyday. Sat Naam.

Come clean for Congo: Life should be free

A very interesting video on the war in Congo, which we in the modern world are linked to. A initiative known as the The Enough Project is trying to end this war. Here is an introduction of the problem from their website:

"The deadliest war since World War II is taking place right now in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and rape is used as a weapon in this war. Though this is taking place halfway around the world, we are directly linked to the conflict. The violence in Congo is being fueled by a multi-million dollar trade in minerals – the 3 T’s (tin, tantalum, and tungsten) - that make our cell phones and other electronics function. Over five million people have died as a result of the war. Hundreds of thousands of women have been raped."

Below is a video entry aimed to raise awareness of this campaign:

Below is a video of Congo soldiers being asked why they rape woman. Their response is very interesting:

So do we think we can make a difference? Even if the electronics companies clean-up their supply chain and only source their materials from conflict-free zones, will the rape stop? Has it stopped in our more "civilised" world where we have no war outwardly? Will it stop the inner war of people's desires being out of control and using excuses such as "magic potions" and "spending too long in the bushes" to justify rape? For me this campaign has raised more questions than shown answers, but this is good, because it's about raising awareness of these issues and if we ask the right questions we shall receive the right answers.

You are the cause of all problems in the cosmos

You are the cause of all problems in the cosmos. You cause it in two ways:
One is that you don't do anything about it, you judge, you evaluate and put people into boxes and sit back and watch the drama unfold. You don't want to be responsible for the bad in the world. You do nothing to eliminate the bad in the world.

Two is that your view of what is bad and good, creates the bad and good in the world. It is not what you see in the world that creates problems, it's how you see what's in the world. In reality bad or good do not exist. I repeat, in reality, good and bad do not exist. Your view of what is good or bad is what creates the good and bad in the world. Therefore, you are the root cause of all the problems in the entire cosmos. Please pause for a moment and reflect on this statement.

I'm not saying there are not challenges. On a spiritual path, the challenges that come are always bigger than what you can deal with. But a challenge is a challenge. A problem is what you view as being bad in a challenge. If you choose to stop viewing things as good and bad, you will be free from all problems in your life. The challenges will continue and you shall be able to face these challenges with greater fervour and confidence, knowing that you have the choice to turn them into a problem or not.

In order to create a world of peace, we must let go of our concepts of good and bad, our judgements and evaluations, and become proactive as individuals to help build bridges between all people of all communities, we must seek to give all people in the world the basics of food and shelter and we must treat Mother Earth gently as our own. Fundamentally however, to achieve these feats, how we see the world through our eyes must change. You and only you can make the choice to let go of your views about good and bad in the world and through your every step, smile and act of kindness, eliminate all the darkness in the world.

Sat Naam.

P.S. This post was written in a very particular and direct style of writing on purpose to test whether you turn even this post into a 'problem'. Did you? If you viewed this post as a bad, then this is because you're still living in the mode of good and bad. The mode is very subtle because it's the only way we've grown up to differentiate the world, so not to worry, even if you live in this mode it's not bad because good and bad do not exist in reality. Just accept it, and try to recognise it next time and a whole new world will open up for you.

How do you view the world?

We live in world which is full of views. Don't do this, don't do that. You must do this, you must do that. You shouldn't do this, you shouldn't do that. We also live as if our views are us. In reality, your view is your view, and you are you. They are two different things. Your view that you hold about a particular topic is just your view, it is not who you really are. You really are just you. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing added, nothing taken away.

Therefore, a view is just like a filter or a pattern which consolidates reality in such a way so it may be understood and grounds the mind into a particular way of thinking. For example, if I say that "apples are disgusting" then every time I see an apple, the view I hold about the apple filters the information from my senses so that the apple seems disgusting to me. Actually what my senses are picking up is just an apple - the apple is neither disgusting nor tasty - it's just an apple! But my view of what an apple is misconstrues this input coming in from my senses and gives me the result "apples are disgusting". To another person who holds the view "apples are delicious", the result will be different.

However, our views of the world which were formed when we were children, are a little more complex than this basic apple analogy. They affect each of our actions, each of our interactions and each of our relationships with everything. Every-thing! Every time we do anything, we are acting under the filter of our views which we ourselves created but forgot we created! This basically means everything we do is inauthentic. It's not pure, it's not truthful, it's not anything but a 4-year-old running our lives! And that 4-year-old is us when we were 4 years old and formed our view about reality. An example of a view created by a 4-year-old might include "Don't express", or "No one loves me", or "Life is boring". This view then goes onto affect every action, interaction and relationship we have - it becomes the foundation from which we build our lives upon.

Unfortunately however, views can also cause great divisions to our world and to our society when we lead ourselves to believe that our particular set of views are the only truth, and therefore all other views are false. This is only true in the animal kingdom, where one beast reigns supreme and everyone else is second-class. But in the human kingdom every human being on Earth has a different view to everyone else, and every view is valid. You see, the difference between me and other people is that I am aware that even my view that all views are valid, is just a view, it is also not the truth, it is merely my truth. However, my view is a Universal one and allows us to create a world of peace in which everyone respects each others' points of view, whereas if a person thinks there is only one truth and it's exclusively for them then this will create a divided society. The choice is up to us, either to create a world of unity or create a world of division.

Also, sometimes views can become very destructive when, a person who thinks their view is the only truth, tries to force another person to accept their view. At a macro level this happened with the Mughal Empire in the 16th century which began to forcibly convert people to Islam, and with Adolf Hitler in the 19th Century who began ethnic cleansing of the Jews. At a micro level this happens everyday at home, in the workplace and at places of 'worship', and most people do this unconsciously. We all try and force our views about particular subjects on other people thinking that they are the absolute and only truth. Examples of this include: homosexuality is wrong, women are weaker than men, all men are cheaters, all Americans are greedy, having too much money is bad, governments are to blame for everything, there will always be violence in the world. We have to understand that these are just views, they are not the truth and they do not correspond to the reality - they only correspond to our individual truth and our individual reality.

Therefore, there is nothing right or wrong in having views, whatever the views may be, in fact we need them as human beings to function on a day-to-day basis. But if our particular set of views do not allow us to understand who we really are, or our purpose in this life, then this view is keeping us limited. Some of these views which we created as children or as adults don't serve us anymore, so we should become aware of these views and then choose to let go of them. Other views may still serve our purpose in life very well, but by becoming aware that these still are just views we created, means we are aware that they may not serve us one day and we can just choose to let go and move on.

The reason why the world is divided at a macro level is because we have created small divisions at a micro level. These divisions exist because we hold steadfast to our views as the only reality and only truth. If we are to create a peaceful society we will have to transform our limited views into a Universal view, and to let go of our views that do not serve our purpose in this life, and to become aware that: your view that you hold about a particular topic is just your view, it is not who you really are. You really are just you. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing added, nothing taken away!

Peace by Piece

We must create peace,
Peace by piece,
Every part by part,
Every heart by heart.

Let us make a start,
Let peace be the art,
Of creating peace within,
Let us now begin.

Time for war is over,
Time for peace is here,
Of hate let's stand clear,
Let compassion be our spear.

Everything will add up,
Like water filling a cup,
If we change ourselves,
Things will change themselves.

Creating a paradigm shift,
With hope as our catalyst,
Humanity will unite,
Under one banner of light.

Just like the coloured rainbow,
Understands and knows,
It emerges from one light,
One source, one might.

We must unite in humanity,
Leaving behind our insanity,
This vision is not vanity,
It can be our chosen reality.

Your participation is requested,
Your participation is required,
Fill the heart with compassion,
Peace will become a passion.

Let us make a start,
Let peace be the art,
Of creating peace within,
Let us now begin.

We must create peace,
Peace by piece,
Every part by part,
Every heart by heart.
