Fear

In fear I am afraid. More than afraid. More than scared. I am closed. I shelter myself. I try to protect myself. I fight that which I fear with my head down, my eyes closed. I hope that when I open my eyes that which I fear will have gone away.

I look around now, with my eyes open, head up. I see nothing to fear.

I think. What do people fear? Uncertainty? Death? I have no fear of such things. I feel like the wind. Blown into any direction, it doesn’t really matter. Here one moment, gone another. It doesn’t really matter.

Yet I feel fear. Strong fear. Painful fear. Fear that I am unable to ignore. I try to shelter myself. I still feel it. Stabbing.

And I know it. I fear nothing but myself. I fear my mind. It is strong. It creates. It creates thoughts and on its creations I act. I make judgements, decisions, actions.

I go within myself and I find fear. Deep and dark. I can’t hide from it. It finds me. I find it.

That which I fear is that which is not True. Not True to me. Not my Truth.

That which I fear creates a pain so deep it is like I can feel it penetrating through my heart.

These creations they pierce my heart. They are not my heart. Not True to my heart.

My Truth it must be strong, since I can feel it fighting back.

Faith. I place faith in my heart. Faith it will battle to overcome the fear. Destroy the pain. Kill the fear.

Head up, eyes open. I stand tall. I stand strong. I see the world. I see myself. I am my Truth.

Sat Naam.

Feeling of Separation is a Blessing

Oh my Lord, this feeling of separation is the only pain that makes me remember Thee. This pain is a blessing upon my mind and my forehead. Oh Great Giver, who is fashioned in forms which my mind cannot comprehend and in colours I cannot see with these eyes, whose beauty is beyond the beyond that I know of and whose state is too exhalted to ever understand. May I die My Lord in Thy consciousness to become one with Thee, may I become of Thee as Thee is of me. May the light of Your mercy shine upon me and all of the creation. May Thy grace fill me with the grace to serve. May Thy kindness and perfection let me treat all of Earth's creatures with kindness. Sat Naam.

Being In Love

My heart beats, and as it beats it remembers, and when I remember that it remembers I explode into a Divine ecstasy which words escape. I fall into my being, my being Divine, never to escape less I forget the love. Love expands, it expands my being into infinity and beyond, like an endless shimmering pond glistening in the Sun light rays. I'm in love, I'm in love, with my soul mate, I'm in love. I'm in love forever, forever I'm in love.

28th of July 2010 - Meri Zindagi Heh Teri Bandagi

I feel like writing, so I will. I rarely write about myself or my day because it's usually not very relevant to people or applicable at a general level - but today I want to record my state of mind so that one day when I reflect back I can assess my own state of consciousness.

Well, today is Wednesday 28th of July, Twenty-Ten, and I love my life. I love the freedom of being able to create in consciousness whatever I want. I get inspiration from many different sources - TV, videos, internet, nature, parents, friends, soulmates, God and my own mind and soul. I follow my heart, whatever it wants to do. Watch a film, watch a TV programme, play the piano, do internet stuff, drink freshly squeezed lemonade, binge on cake and chocolate, go shopping - whatever. It doesn't matter. I'm not very intellectual, my maths and science are at a basic level, but it doesn't matter to me. It doesn't matter because I have no desire to go deeply into anything, not even within myself.

It might seem strange to people, but religion or spirituality means nothing to me but being human. I don't know whether God exists, although I can feel some greater guiding my life, who am I to assume that's God. If God is the greatest possible being then its quite likely I can't imagine Him or Her or It or Them. So what's the point in trying? I'd rather just be. And that's mostly what I do all day, I just be. "Be what?", you might ask? Just be present to life. I just accept it as it is, and I accept I can never understand it fully. Even one million years from now this statement I know will hold true to some stupid historian that has nothing better to do than to analyse history by looking at all our blog posts of this time and then categorise our state of development of consciousness at this given time - well Mr. Historian - I do feel sorry for you! Get a new job! lol!

I'm not saying we should live like we did before the industrial revolution, we should progress technologically and scientifically, but it will never tell us the answer. Even a theory which supposedly explains everything won't be able to. So I think, just relax and enjoy life, why bother imagining the unimaginable? Also, desire and progress I find intriguing at this time. Desire just drives us mental, quicker we learn to manage desire the better - that's been my pursuit all these years and might I add, lifetimes. In modern speak, desire is a bitch that needs to be put on a leash and progress is an illusion created by idiots. I know its sounds harsh, but truth is harsh sometimes.

The whole world moves by desire, but I try and fight it off like a disease, sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail, but my soul always tries to fight it off or manage it. I have no desire to have anything against desire, it is what it is. Desire is a disease we all have. What do you do with a disease which you can't get rid of? Learn to accept it and live with it as best as possible. Progress is a word given by deluded people who cannot accept what is now. I personally believe true progress is not going forwards, its going backwards to our original originality.

Step into my life for moment instead of yours! :) If I have no desire, then how could there be progress? Well, the so called 'progress' we call today is just a bunch of bullshit, often literally. Its all stagnant, lifeless, rotting, stinking. Its all based on desire. Modern progress can eloquently be defined as "A human being acting like a dog, being pulled by a leash through the bullshit". Now that's science for you! You may not understand what I'm saying but I'm OK with that. Maybe you'll quote me someday, maybe not, but I've said all I needed to in this paragraph which is the summary of today's world. Now, Mr. Historian, I did all your work for you didn't I? Hahahaha! What an irony, you would think that without thoughts would make you stupid when in actuality, it gives a person superior intelligence.

Well, in summary Meri Zindagi Heh Teri Bandagi. Translation My Life Is Your Salutation. Interpret this how you will.

;) In Divine Service and Light,

Me.

Numerology of the Morning Prayers in Sikh Dharma

108 - Mool Mantar, Root Chant by Guru Nanak Dev Ji
The Mool Mantar, which is at the beginning of the Sikh Holy Scripture, the Shri Guru Granth Sahib, consists of 108 sounds. If you count ੴ (Ik-Ong-Kaar) as two sounds, each ॥ (Double Danda) as two sounds, and the rest as one sound, you should end up with 108 sounds which make up the Mool Mantar or Root Chant. See how even the ॥੧॥ at the end of the Mool Mantar is so important into completing the cycle, silently and subtly through the eyes by simply looking at it, not reading it.

38 + 2 - Jap Ji Sahib, Song of the Soul by Guru Nanak Dev Ji
The ladder of the Song of the Soul, or Jap Ji Sahib, consists of 38 steps with one starting invocation and a destination invocation to complete the cycle of 40. Each step of the Jap Ji begins a cycle of vibration throughout the body which transforms the mind's projection towards infinity. The starting invocation acts as a scissor to cut into the mind, and the destination invocation acts as a seal to keep in the energy creating a full circle of completeness.

199 - Jaap Sahib, Prayer on Truth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji
The Prayer on Truth, or Jaap Sahib, is the second morning prayer of the Sikhs and finishes at an odd number of 199 to balance the Jap Ji's even number of 40. 40 times by 5 is 200, less 1 equals 199. This significance of this is to do with the balance of the energies of Shakti, worldly power, and Bhakti, spiritual or devotional power. Jaap Sahib creates Shakti and Jap Ji creates Bhakti. One unit of Bhakti is equivalent to five units of Shakti, or in other words, for every five units of Shakti will require one unit of Bhakti to balance it out. The 199 being an odd number is significant because there is a danger of Shakti exceeding Bhakti, and therefore this one unit less than 200 acts as a guarantee of equilibrium - its better to have more Bhakti than Shakti!

10 - Tav Prasad Savaiye, Prayer of God’s Blessings by Guru Gobind Singh Ji
Following the odd, must be an even, and the Prayer of God's Blessings or Tav Prasad Savaiye is just this. The number 10 is important because it takes the 1 which represents something or the individual, and brings it to the 0 which represents void or Shuniya. In modern terms, this is the act of taking matter and putting it in a black hole. Similarly, the third ventricle or cave of Brahma, in the brain contains a void or black hole at the pineal gland. The Prayer of God's Blessings takes a human being to this void within the mind and erases their past actions in order to create space for creating a new future.

29 + 2 - Kabiobach Benti Chaupai, Prayer from the Speech of the Poet by Guru Gobind Singh Ji
Following the even, must be an odd, and the Prayer from the Speech of the Poet or Kabiobach Benti Chaupai is just that. Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Master of Light of the Sikhs, carefully constructed this prayer with a penetrating sound pattern that acts to make the mind one-pointed and in that state of mind all suffering, disease, pain, fear and stupidity is removed. Everyone should be aware to read this prayer up to the 29th step, since the last four steps are usually removed in a lot of prayer books or Gutkas, but without these final four steps the energy created by this prayer cannot be sealed within the mind and its effect is lost. The final four steps are:
Kripaa kari ham par jagmaataa || Granth karaa pooran subh raataa ||
Kilbikh sakal deh ko hartaa || Dusht dokhiyan ko chhai kartaa ||26||
The Mother of the world has been kind towards me and I have completed the book this auspicious night; The Lord is the destroyer of all the sins of the body and all the malicious and wicked persons. (26)

Sri asidhuj jab bhae dayaalaa || Pooran karaa granth tatkaalaa ||
Man baanchhat phal paavai soee || Dookh na tisai biaapat koee ||27||
When Mahakal became kind, He immediately caused me to complete this book; He will obtain the fruit desired by the mind (who will read or listen to this book) and no suffering will occur to him. (27)

The dumb, who will listen to it, will be blessed with the tongue to speak; the fool, who will listen to it attentively, will get wisdom; That person will be absolved of suffering, pain or fear, who will even once recite this Chaupai-prayer. (28)

Sanbhat satrah sahas bhanijai || Aradh sahas phun teen kahijai ||
Bhaadrav sudi ashtami ravi vaaraa || Teer satuddrav granth sudhaaraa ||29||
It was Bikrami Samvat 1753; This book was competed on the banks of Sutlej on Sunday, the eighth Sudi of the month of Bhadon. (29)

40 - Anand Sahib, Song of Bliss by Guru Amar Das Ji
Again, following an odd, must be the final even. The Song of Bliss is the seal of all the previous meditations and prayers and is crystallises the mind's learning and explodes a person into the totality of bliss of their own soul. Listening to the 40 steps of the ladder of the Song of Bliss guarantees liberation - it expands a human being's concept and scale of bliss. People should be aware though not to just climb 5 steps of the ladder then jump to the 40th step, which again most prayer books or Gutkas are printed like. Instead, a person should climb only 5 steps or all the 40, otherwise you will fall off the ladder and injure yourself badly! Bliss is a carefully constructed science, it's not a pick and mix unfortunately, although it is much sweeter.

Video on Arithmetic, Population and Energy by Dr. Albert A. Bartlett

Everyone should watch the following video on how the rising human population and our increasing use of resources is going to become one of the biggest problems in OUR lifetime. The blurb of the video is "I introduce this video to my students as "Perhaps the most boring video you'll ever see, and definitely the most important." But then again, after watching it most said that if you followed along with what the presenter (a professor emeritus of Physics at Univ of Colorado-Boulder) is saying, it's quite easy to pay attention, because it is so damn compelling.":

The Fear of Death is an Inauthentic Fear

The fear of death is an inauthentic fear. It’s inauthentic because everyone knows they’re going to die, sooner or later, but nevertheless certainly. So why is it people are afraid of dying? It is not the death itself but what’s ahead and behind death.

Ahead of death for most is a mystery and at best, a speculation. However, the scriptures clearly mention life after death, so it’s an individual’s choice to believe or not believe in life after death. But belief has never been a foundation stone and nor will it ever be, thus experience of life after death is the only way to create a certainty about it. Life after death experiences are rare occurrences and although there are ways to induce this experience through deep meditation, people may be afraid to try it.

Behind death is what an individual leaves behind. Fear is caused through attachment, because when one is attached there is a fear it will one day end and cause pain. Attachment includes family, friends, relationships, circumstances, material possessions and even the body. Therefore, herein lies a key to escape the fear of death – to become non-attached.

Although non-attachment is arguably not an easy feat to accomplish, it is something which is available to everyone. When a person can honestly say they are not afraid tomorrow, or even today, they have let go of all their attachments and the fear of death is vanquished – even without experiencing life after death. This is called liberation.

However, even after this state has been achieved, one fear of death will still remain and that is the fear of dying in unforeseen circumstances. If a person knows they will certainly die one day and accepts this, it is only part of the solution to conquering the fear of death. What a person must also know is how they will die.

In order to know how you will die you must know the future, in order to know the future you need intuition, in order to develop intuition you must learn to listen, in order to learn to listen you must meditate regularly, in to meditate regularly you must be disciplined, in order to be disciplined you need a teacher to discipline you, in order to find a teacher you need to be fortunate, in order to be fortunate you need to pray for it. And so from one simple prayer lies the final key in conquering the fear of death. Once the intuition is fully developed and a person can learn to use their intuition during unforeseen circumstances – the fear of death shall be no more. Then one becomes fearless and courageous.

Making Sense of Life

We often wander through life without really thinking about it. The faculties of our mind do not really serve us how they should. This is because we have not maintained or learned to maintain the faculties of our mind. When our mind is maintained it becomes crystal clear and sharp like a diamond - enlightened. But when we to not keep our mind in shape it sags and lags and become very inefficient and ineffective. But then the question arises, how to maintain the mind?

Well the secret is the music, frequency and projection to which the mind is attuned. If the mind is attuned towards infinity, it reflects infinity like mirror reflecting a vast ocean. If the mind is attuned towards an object, it keeps thinking about an object. If the mind is attuned towards a person, it keeps thinking about a person. However, even the frequency of the mind changes because the mind forgets the instructions it has been given. Therefore a repetition or constant reminder is required for the mind to keep it in tune. 'In tune' is the correct phraseology, because the mind is always tuned to a frequency just like a radio station.

What then is the frequency of God and how to attune the mind to that frequency? Well, through music, melody and poetry. In order for a song to be effective it must have the right music which creates the right mood and then through the use of the right words which speak to all aspects of a person's mind, body and soul, the cycle of effectiveness is complete. The Sikh Holy scripture, the Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, is written in music, melody and poetry that is complete, whole and perfect and takes the listening and the reader directly to God. There need be no middle-man to God, the Sikh Gurus gave all of humanity a way to God directly through the Shabad, the hymns which cut the ego and allow a human being to rise to their full potential.

In the future we shall see that without the Shabad, life cannot be complete. Shabad exists in all religions in one form or another, so it is up to the devotees of every religion to bring forward their music, melodies and poetry to share with the world. The music of a society is a sign of its spiritual evolution. A society which has not developed their consciousness has emotional and commotional music which speaks to just the emotions and makes people's emotions go wild, it does not settle the anxieties of the heart, mind and soul. Even very advanced civilisations will only learn to attune their bodies, minds and hearts, but their souls remain empty. In order for a hymn to penetrate to the deepest parts of the psyche it has to have come from an enlightened human being who has attained the state and status of God, the most perfect being in the Universe. The Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, is one of very few examples of such a collection of hymns that speak to all parts of the human psyche and remove all anxieties however deep they may be.

It is time to evolve as a human race. To evolve our hearts, to evolve our minds and to evolve our Self, so to experience the ecstasy which is our birthright as a human being. It is through the ecstasy and bliss that we understand to let go of our judgements, our anxieties and our self created sufferings. May we all, by God's Grace, stick to our songs, understand our songs and practice our songs so that we can evolve ourselves to a higher level of consciousness, which is just part of the game of life and existence.

This Shabad is by Bhagat Kabeer Ji in Raag Dhanaasree on Page 692 of the Shri Guru Granth Sahib:
Day by day, hour by hour, life runs its course, and the body withers away.
Death, like a hunter, a butcher, is on the prowl; tell me, what can we do? ||1||
      That day is rapidly approaching.
Mother, father, siblings, children and spouse - tell me, who belongs to whom? ||1||Pause||
As long as the light remains in the body, the beast does not understand himself.
He acts in greed to maintain his life and status, and sees nothing with his eyes. ||2||
Says Kabeer, listen, O mortal: Renounce the doubts of your mind.
Chant only the One Naam, the Name of the Lord, O mortal, and seek the Sanctuary of the One Lord. ||3||2||

      Love

When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
      He grinds you to whiteness.
      He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
      Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
      To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
      To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
      To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;

      Why I Am A Sikh?

I am a Sikh, a learner and a seeker of Truth. Learning to be a better human being in every moment of every day and seeking the Truth within. I do not believe in anything, I instead know through experience. My core values are honesty in living, sharing with and serving those in need, and daily meditation. This is my way of life. My Guru is the Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Word, the eternal Master of Light, which inspires, guides and lights my life. The Guru is the complete living consciousness of perfect poetry, melody, meter, rhythm and rhyme. This is the source of my life. Poetry for me is the expression of my complete heart and soul. Union with infinity is my life’s goal, unconditional love is my vehicle and purity is my path. If I were to summarise my entire life’s lesson in a sentence, it would be to never stop putting in the effort, and one day you will be granted the grace to succeed.

Daily Hukamnama for 7th of July 2010 - The Drop is in the Ocean

A most beautiful Hukamnama written by the first Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the melody Raamkalee, the mood of inspiring lofty thoughts, on page 878 of the Sikh Holy Scripture, the Shri Guru Granth Sahib. This hymn is so philosophical and deep in thought that for me it gives me a sense of the mysterious and awakens within me curiosity about the nature of things. Enjoy...

RAAMKALEE, FIRST MEHL: The drop is in the ocean, and the ocean is in the drop. Who understands, and knows this? He Himself creates the wondrous play of the world. He Himself contemplates it, and understands its true essence. || 1 || How rare are those who contemplate this spiritual wisdom. Through this, the supreme state of liberation is attained. || 1 || Pause || The night is in the day, and the day is in the night. The same is true of hot and cold. No one else knows His state and extent; without the Guru, this is not understood. || 2 || The female is in the male, and the male is in the female. Understand this, O God-realized being! The meditation is in the music, and knowledge is in meditation. Become Gurmukh, and speak the Unspoken Speech. || 3 || The Light is in the mind, and the mind is in the Light. The Guru brings the five senses together, like brothers. Nanak is forever a sacrifice to those who enshrine love for the One Word of the Shabad. || 4 || 9 ||

      Eyes Closed, Palms Together

Eyes closed, palms together, I feel my heart whisper.
It calls out urging the walls, blocks, barriers within it to tumble and fall.
It beckons to the light within it to engulf, shine, radiate.

Eyes closed, palms together, I feel my heart dream.
Dream of submitting to all it doesn’t, can’t, won’t understand.
Dream of drowning in a light real, pure, true.

Eyes closed, palms together, I feel my heart long.
Long to experience another moment of still, truth, bliss.
Long for the eternity where it feels nothing but it’s true, infinite self.

      Day and Night it Danced

      Day and night it danced,
My mind it refused to rest.
Continually creating questions to be answered,
My mind it repeatedly failed its own test.

“What am I?” it yearned to know,
Wondering if all could just be left, observed.
The intricate play of the universe
      Causing unrest, thoughts disturbed.

      Searching for that peace inside,
      Confident answers would be known,
I dived down towards my depth,
Waiting for truths to be shown.

Strong, they struck me at the heart,
My truths they came loud and clear.
All that I am, all that I need to do,
Clarified with no room left for fear.

Now I see- how can I not?
All is of one radiant light.
There is a simple task at hand,
Once complete, all will be bright.

Funny I thought I had lost my mind.
Now I fight to be rid of it, be clear.
Since the truth is I don’t need it,
Without it in my true direction I’ll steer.

A New Era for My Life

The transition of my previous life is now complete and a new era - a new paradigm in my life has begun. The past is now in the past, now its time to move towards my final phase of mastery, sacrifice and service. This phase presents an interesting challenge. The challenge is of my mind, not of my heart.

My heart already knows and accepts its destiny, and although my mind does too, my mind will be challenged to expand in mastery, sacrifice and service in order for me to fulfil my destiny. My destiny is very simple and straightforward: To see other people fulfilled and in their fulfilment I shall be fulfilled.

But how do I allow people to become fulfilled? Well now I have a number of tools at hand: hypnotherapy, counselling, Shabad Guru, meditation, Kundalini Yoga, intuition, healing through eyes and hands, and soon also, Shamanic Journeying. With these tools all miracles are possible. As I continue to delve deeper into each of these tools I'm expanding my ability to heal people's hearts and give people an access to transcend their own self-created suffering to expand into the realm of bliss. The more I learn, the more I can share. The time is now and now is the time, to become gracious as a King, to become the light of everlasting, the time is now and now is the time.

Before this became possible however I had to transcend the desire to serve. Usually people go into service because they think there is something wrong with the world and want to fix it. Their conversation is this: "I want peace on Earth". But if a person removed the "I" and removes the "want" then all that's left is "peace on Earth". Ego and desire, or in other words, self-interest and emotions which drive a person towards or away from something need to be transcended or channelled in order to create peace on Earth. The universal rule is simple and paradoxical: go and things will come. Now it is time for me to apply this in real life to my life of service. It shall be a continuous process of letting go in the moment and transcending my desire in order to serve through a clear consciousness and a heightened intuition.

But let's not forget how FUN this all is. Fun is the heart of spirituality, whatever that is. If a person cannot have fun whilst serving, then either the service is wrong, or the person is clearing a whole HEAP of Karma! Either way one must just be with the feeling until happiness emerges, and emerge it shall. For happiness is an essential and core state of being in this life, it is the basis upon which the human being is built. The Soul which we truly are is a perfect expression of God who is beyond desire, beyond suffering and completely in bliss constantly - thus by being in Soul it is possible to always be happy and blissful in this life.

May God and Guru continue to give me the strength in this life to serve with compassion and kindness, and to complete the final stage of my development as a human being towards mastery, sacrifice and service and continue to keep me at his feet so that I may not become complacent in seeing and learning the continuing unfolding of life and legacy. Sat Naam.
