Music and Dance

Music need not be understood, it just needs to be listened to in a way which is absorbed in the deep recesses of the heart. Music is not for the mind, it's for the heart. Any music which blocks the heart or brings anxiety to it should not be called music, it should be called anti-music. Listening to classical, new age or any heart-rendering music is the way to expand oneself and get rid of all the worries and anxieties that besiege us day-to-day. Clarity is obtained. Purpose. Direction.

Dance need not be constrained, it just needs to flow from the heart as an expression of who you are. If you're graceful, dance gracefully. If you're fun, dance fun. If you're happy, dance happy. If you're sad, dance sad. Whatever you are, dance like it, flow with it, grow with it. Amidst dancing comes a point of stillness, for everything in reality works non-logically, the effect is opposite to what you think it may be. Dancing brings stillness.

If music and dance are combined, it can create an effect so profound that you become lost in it. It's good to be lost sometimes, because after every loss you naturally will find yourself, renew yourself, realise yourself as whole, as complete, as everything.

Sat Naam.
